Harry Babbitt - Civil War - CPL, K Co., 55 IL Inf.; enlisted Oct. 23, 1861, discharged Sept. 1862.  Major battle: Shilo. Hugh Babbitt - Civil War - PVT, G Co., 50 IL Inf.; enlisted Sept. 21, 1861, discharged May 1, 1862 for disability. Saw action at Fort Donelson, Peach Orchard, Shilo.  Hugh was 44 when he enlisted as a private. Israel Babbitt - Civil  War - CPl, G Co., 50 IL Inf.; enlisted  Sept, 24, 1861. Died in Paducah, Ky., April 3, 1862. James Babbitt, Jr. - Civil War - CPL, G Co., 50 IL Inf.; enlisted Sept 24, 1861, m.o. Sept. 27, 1864. Major engagements: Fort Donelson, Peach Orchard, Shilo, Allatoona, and Bentonville. James J. Babbitt  - Civil War - SGT, G Co., 50 IL Inf.; enlisted Sept 24, 1861, m.o. July 13, 1865. Job Babbitt - Civil War - SGT, C Co., 17 IL Inf.; served 4 years - wounded at Fort Donelson, TN.  Took part in battles from Belmont to Vicksburg. John J.
